Hi there! My name is Emily Nadeau and I am graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development. Majoring in Child Development, my years at this university provided me with numerous courses and experiences that deepened my knowledge and understanding of the field.

Currently, I am pursuing a Masters Degree in School Counseling, with an embedded Pupil Personnel Services Credential. Through this education continuation, I will be on the path to becoming a school counselor. My goal is to work with elementary or middle school students, providing them with the tools needed to build their social and emotional skills. My hope is that these children then carry these skills with them throughout their lives, supporting them through their individual journeys.

I have made this website as a project in my Developmental Science Technology Lab class, where I have been able to learn skills never used before. The first of these has been website development, with this site being my first ever created. Through this activity, I have gained the knowledge of how to form a website from the beginning. Another task completed during the making of this site has been the use of Adobe Photoshop, which is a platform I hadn't touched before this quarter. While learning how to edit multiple images and use the tools in this program, I have developed the confidence to use platforms such as this and make adjustments through photo editing. Creating a podcast has been another major aspect of this project, which I find particular useful as these forms of media are becoming so much more popular in modern culture. To edit this recording, I used a program called GarageBandWhile I was less familiar with the concepts of blogs, learning more about the backside of developing these technology tools has been a beneficial experience. â€‹â€‹Overall, this project has taught me various technology skills, while also being able to implement them into real-life practice. Moving forward, I will be able to take my newfound abilities and apply them to future endeavors. I hope you enjoy exploring my website!
