What is Comic-Based Media?
Comic-based media is a creative and engaging way to teach concepts. It involves using art, such as comic strips, to communicate important messages or explain ideas. While comic strips are often seen as a fun way to tell stories, comic-based media takes this format and uses it to convey lessons or concepts in an enjoyable and memorable way. This approach is commonly used in classrooms and workplaces, making learning more interactive and entertaining. By combining visuals and text, comic-based media helps to make reading and understanding new information both fun and effective.
What is Object Permanence?
Object permanence is a key concept in developmental psychology that refers to a child’s ability to understand that objects continue to exist even when they can no longer be seen or heard. This understanding is especially important during early childhood. Psychologist Jean Piaget emphasized the role of object permanence in his theory of cognitive development. He believed that children begin to develop this concept during the sensorimotor stage, which starts at birth and continues to about two years old. Before achieving object permanence, infants may become distressed when an object is hidden because they think it no longer exists. As children grow, they begin to realize that objects remain present even when out of view. Along with this, they often begin to search for hidden items. Reaching this milestone is a significant step in a child’s mental and cognitive development, laying the groundwork for more advanced reasoning, problem-solving, and memory skills.
